Visitors and visiting....

Hello everyone,

Well, what a month its been, with seminars and visitors!  I am quite exhausted!  I went to Nkhoma which is in the central region as I was invited to have a look at some early childhood centres and give them some advice on the way forward.  It was an interesting couple of days!

Its time for Presbytery meetings and they are every weekend until the middle of July - with three each weekend!  My Presbytery Trainers have to give reports and so I was meeting them in various locations to ensure that they had a good report to give their Presbytery.  Below, you can see Emily from Mzalangwe Presbytery and Angella from Milala Presbytery.

Next stop was Rumphi and as is often the case, there were many baboons on the road!

Here I am meeting with Presbytery trainers from Karonga and Chitipa....

and the following day meeting with Ministers and session clerks to sensitize them on the importance of Early Childhood and how they can support our centres!

Then it was on to Ngerenge Presbytery which is near the Tanzania border, here you can see Nicolas facilitating!

and some of the participants!

The following week I travelled to Lilongwe to pick up very important visitors who were going to Livingstonia!  From left its Yvonne, Ida, Melanie, Maureen and me!

Continuing with our programme of sensitizing ministers, we travelled to Nyika Presbytery...

and then to Rumphi Presbytery....

and finally for this blog, Ekwendeni Presbytery!

More visitors arrived....Grace and John had been on a team in 2008 to Karonga and wanted to see how things were there, so we travelled to Kasowa and you can see the primary school children were interested when we arrived!

The early childhood centre the team helped to build is still standing, even after the earthquakes in 2012, and there are many children attending the centre!

We visited one of the caregivers homes and Grace and John were not only given chintenje (the traditional cloth) but had to wear them too!

We also visited my trainer Lucy who lives in the village with her elderly mother.

Grace and John also attended the wedding of Ikemo and his bride Chifundo!  Ikemo had been the guide and translator while they were in Kasowa with the team in 2008!

After Karonga, I picked up the first four visitors and we travelled to Nkhotakota on the lakeshore on the way back to the airport in Lilongwe!  The following are a few pictures from the lake!

On Friday I was invited to Mkombezi in Rumphi where some friends had given money to a church to assist with flooring.  As usual we were welcomed by lots of children....

The flooring is coming on well!

Some of the traditional leaders were there too and of course I had to have my lunch with them!!

Its been a tiring month and I think I need a rest so I might take a few days off before I begin the next phase of training!

Wishing you all a blessed week.
